Dubai-born Josh Hill is one step away from qualifying for the US Open, the third Major of the golfing year. Studying on a golf scholarship at the University of Tennessee, Josh will be competing in the Final Qualifying Round on Monday alongside 68 other golfers at the Golf Club of Georgia. The 124th US Open will be held at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club from June 13-16. After a successful Local Qualifying round where he shot four under par, Josh is determined to perform well and secure a spot in the prestigious tournament.

Josh expressed his excitement for the Final Qualifying round, stating that his game is in good shape and he is hopeful for a strong performance. Despite facing challenges due to a previous injury, Josh’s confidence has grown with increased training intensity. The Final Qualifying Rounds for the US Open consist of 10 events, with Josh participating in one of them after progressing from the Local Qualifying stage. With 36 holes to be played in one day, players will have to showcase their skills in what is referred to as ‘Golf’s Longest Day.’

Joining Josh at the Golf Club of Georgia is a lineup of talented golfers, including former British Amateur champion Christo Lamprech and 2013 US PGA champion Jason Dufner. After the Final Qualifying Round, Josh will be heading to play in the St Andrews Links Trophy followed by The Amateur Championship in Ireland. At The Amateur, players will compete in Strokeplay rounds to determine the top 64 players who will advance to the Matchplay stage. Matches will be played over 18 holes with the Final match decided over 36 holes.

Notable golfers in the qualifying field alongside Josh include Oscar Craig, Sam Mullane, Khaled Attiah, Issa Abou El Ela, James Nash, and Kipp Ropert. The competition at the US Open Final Qualifier is expected to be intense, with players vying for limited qualifying spots to join those already exempt. As Josh prepares for this significant opportunity, he is focused on showcasing his skills and aiming for a successful outcome. The journey to competing in Major tournaments requires dedication, skill, and determination, qualities that Josh and other aspiring golfers are eager to demonstrate on the course.
