Under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of Qatar, INJAZ Qatar recently held its Mubadara Awards ceremony for the 17th edition of the Annual Young Enterprise of the Year Competition in Qatar. The prestigious event took place at The Torch Doha Ballroom, where participants showcased their innovative business ideas and entrepreneurial skills. Boeing, the program’s exclusive strategic partner since 2013, presented the Best Company Award among universities to the “On Budget” team from Qatar University, who developed a sustainable online platform offering surplus products at discounted rates.
Boeing Middle East President, Kuljit Ghata-Aura, praised the partnership with INJAZ Qatar in empowering young entrepreneurs with valuable skills to bring about positive change through innovation. ExxonMobil, the platinum sponsor of the ceremony, awarded the Best Company among high schools to the “Smart Patch” team from Al Wakrah Secondary School for Girls. This student-led company designed a smart patch for screening and diagnosing premature babies with Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE), demonstrating their commitment to healthcare innovation.
In addition to the Best Company Awards, several other accolades were presented during the ceremony. The People’s Choice Award went to the “VirtuLearn” team from CUC Ulster University, while the Highest Social Impact Award was given to teams from Northwestern University in Qatar, CUC Ulster University, and Al Shaima Secondary School for Girls. The Most Innovative Product/Service Award was granted to teams from Texas A&M University at Qatar, Amna Bint Wahab Secondary School for Girls, and Belgravia High School, recognizing their creative and forward-thinking business concepts.
Furthermore, the Best Marketing Plan Award was presented to the “Hala Nourish” team from University of Doha for Science and Technology and to the “Fitlist” team from the American School of Doha. Chair of INJAZ Qatar, Sheikha Hanadi Nasser Al Thani, emphasized the program’s role in inspiring and supporting young individuals in Qatar to realize their entrepreneurial aspirations. Over the past 17 years, Mubadara has enabled more than 3,500 students to explore their business ideas and turn them into successful ventures, contributing to the development of a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in Qatar.
