Reading books may not be as popular among today’s youth as it once was, but there is still a significant number of students who find joy and adventure in the pages of a good book. At events like the KT UniExpo, where DC Books is a participant, students can be seen browsing through literature and making purchases at the end of the day. Hussain Mohammed Taj, head of sales at DC Books, believes that reading will never go out of style, despite the competition from the internet. He mentions that books have a unique charm and provide a platform for cultural exchange among children.

While statistics show a decline in reading due to the internet revolution, there is still a population of youngsters who enjoy reading for pleasure. Tasneem from the Amity Private School in Sharjah expresses her love for reading, particularly the Harry Potter books by JK Rowling. Thanks to authors like Rowling, who have made literature accessible in multiple languages, the art of reading is being revived. Additionally, Amazon Books has played a significant role in promoting reading among today’s youth.

According to Hussain, the Harry Potter novels remain a top seller at bookshops, proving their timeless popularity. Fiction stories, such as those by Roald Dahl, contribute to the educational development of children. Books like Matilda and Willy Wonka not only entertain but also aid in cognitive growth. As long as kids have access to a variety of books, they have the opportunity to expand their minds and enjoy the world of literature.

Although the internet offers a wealth of information, books continue to captivate students with their unique charm and storytelling. DC Books and other publishers aim to engage the younger generation by offering a wide range of literature and encouraging the habit of reading. Events like the KT UniExpo provide an opportunity for students to explore different genres and discover new authors. Through the promotion of reading, cultural exchange and educational development are fostered among children.

In conclusion, the love for reading remains alive among today’s youth, despite the digital age. Events like the KT UniExpo and the efforts of publishers like DC Books play a crucial role in promoting the habit of reading among students. With access to a diverse selection of books and the support of educators and parents, students have the opportunity to explore new worlds and expand their imaginations through the power of literature. By fostering a love for reading, we can ensure that the tradition of storytelling and the joy of books continue to thrive among the younger generation.
