The Shura Council member from Qatar, H E Abdullah bin Nasser bin Turki Al Subaie, issued a warning about the international community’s failure to hold Israeli occupation forces accountable for their actions. In a speech at the 18th Plenary Session in Braga, Portugal, Al Subaie highlighted the ongoing Israeli escalation in Palestinian territories, specifically mentioning the situation in Gaza. Despite efforts to broker peace, including a Qatar-Egypt proposal accepted by Hamas, Israel has shown a reluctance to bring an end to the conflict.

Qatar’s leadership, under Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has been supportive of peace initiatives and efforts to resolve the Palestinian issue in accordance with international law and UN resolutions. Al Subaie emphasized the importance of a just and sustainable peace that recognizes the rights of the Palestinian people and establishes an independent state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. The continuation of the Israeli occupation and the lack of progress towards a peaceful resolution pose a threat to international peace and security.

The Shura Council member’s speech underscores the urgent need for the international community to take action and hold Israel accountable for its actions in the occupied territories. The ongoing conflict in Gaza and the refusal of the Israeli side to engage in meaningful peace talks demonstrate the importance of outside intervention to prevent further escalation. Qatar’s support for peace efforts and its commitment to finding a resolution based on international law are key factors in advancing towards a sustainable peace in the region.

As tensions continue to rise in the region, the importance of finding a just and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict becomes increasingly apparent. The continued occupation and violence in Gaza, along with the rejection of peace proposals, highlight the need for international intervention to facilitate negotiations and ensure the rights of the Palestinian people are respected. Qatar’s leadership in supporting peace efforts and advocating for a resolution within the framework of international legitimacy is crucial in advancing the cause of peace in the region.

The situation in Gaza and the broader Israeli-Palestinian conflict remains a pressing issue that requires immediate attention from the international community. The Shura Council member’s warning about the consequences of inaction and the threat posed to international peace and security by the continued Israeli occupation underscores the need for a concerted effort to find a solution. Qatar’s support for peace initiatives and its commitment to upholding international law provide a valuable foundation for advancing towards a just and sustainable peace in the region.

In conclusion, the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is clear, and the international community must take action to address the ongoing violence and occupation in Gaza. Qatar’s support for peace efforts and its advocacy for a just and sustainable solution based on international law are critical factors in advancing towards a lasting peace. The Shura Council member’s warning about the consequences of inaction and the threat to international peace and security highlights the importance of finding a resolution that upholds the rights of the Palestinian people and ensures a future of peace and stability in the region.
