The upcoming launch of the unified GCC tourist visa is set to revolutionize travel and tourism in the Gulf region. Local and global travel agencies are preparing to roll out packages for tourists who will be able to explore all six Gulf countries with this visa. Industry executives predict that packages including stays in three countries could range from Dh4,000-Dh5,000 and above, covering travel, accommodation, and sightseeing.

The ‘GCC Grand Tours’ visa, similar to a Schengen-style visa, is expected to be operational by the end of this year, according to officials who discussed the matter at the Arabian Travel Market. Rehan Asad, vice president for global markets at Expedia, emphasized the positive impact the unified GCC tourist visa will have on the region’s tourism sector. He mentioned that the visa will facilitate intra-country traffic and drive tourism further.

Travel and tourism experts are gearing up to cater to the needs of tourists looking for convenience and flexibility in their GCC tours. Expedia is planning to offer dynamic and customizable packages that cater to different segments of travelers. The focus will initially be on the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with plans to expand throughout the GCC region. The upcoming GCC unified tourist visa is a significant factor influencing Expedia’s decision to expand operations in the GCC.

The cost of these packages is estimated to be around Dh1,500 per person for one country, including transfers, flights, and sightseeing. For tourists planning a multi-country visit to UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, the cost could range from Dh4,000-Dh5,000, covering flights, hotels, transfers, and excursions in selective countries. Companies like Last Minute Tourism are already developing affordable packages for Dubai, Oman, and Qatar markets, offering bundled deals that can save tourists up to 25%.

The unified GCC tourist visa is expected to boost inbound tourism and attract residents of regional countries to explore the Gulf region. Ross Veitch, CEO of Wego, believes that the visa will make the region more popular, especially among Chinese inbound visitors. With the flexibility to explore multiple countries with a single visa, tourists can experience the diverse offerings of the region. Business and leisure travel integration is also expected to increase post-Covid, with travelers looking to mix work and pleasure during their trips.

In conclusion, the unified GCC tourist visa is set to enhance the travel and tourism industry in the Gulf region, offering tourists the opportunity to explore all six countries with ease. With affordable packages and customizable options, travelers can enjoy a seamless and convenient GCC tour experience. The visa’s launch is expected to attract a diverse range of tourists, including Chinese visitors, and boost inbound tourism in the region. As travel agencies prepare to roll out exciting packages, the Gulf region is gearing up to welcome a new wave of tourists looking to explore its rich cultural and natural attractions.
