Bahrain has welcomed a United Nations General Assembly resolution that supports Palestine’s right to obtain full membership in the UN. The resolution, adopted by a majority vote of 143, also recommends that the Security Council reconsider the matter favorably. This resolution grants Palestine additional rights and privileges related to its status in the international organization. The efforts of the Arab Group, led by the UAE, in presenting and adopting this resolution during the Tenth Emergency Special Session of the General Assembly were also valued by Bahrain.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement expressing Bahrain’s support for the international consensus on the legitimate historical rights of the Palestinian people. This includes their right to self-determination, freedom, justice, equality, independence, and ending the occupation, in accordance with international law. Bahrain also reiterated its call for a ceasefire in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians. The UN resolution demonstrates the international community’s support for the peace process in the Middle East and the legitimate rights of Palestinians to establish an independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution and in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Bahrain’s stance on the UN resolution reflects its commitment to upholding international law and supporting the rights of the Palestinian people. By calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian aid, Bahrain emphasizes the importance of addressing the humanitarian crisis in the region. The recognition of East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state highlights the significance of the city in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the need for a peaceful resolution to the issue.

The international community’s support for the peace process in the Middle East, as demonstrated by the UN resolution, is crucial for achieving a lasting and just solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. By granting Palestine additional rights and privileges related to its status in the UN, the resolution paves the way for increased international recognition and support for the Palestinian cause. Bahrain’s appreciation of the Arab Group’s efforts in presenting and adopting the resolution underscores the importance of regional cooperation in advancing the Palestinian quest for statehood.

In conclusion, Bahrain’s support for the UN General Assembly resolution on Palestine reflects its commitment to upholding international law and promoting peace and stability in the Middle East. By calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian aid, Bahrain emphasizes the importance of addressing the humanitarian crisis in the region. The resolution’s recognition of the legitimate rights of Palestinians to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital is a positive step towards a just and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Bahrain’s endorsement of the resolution is a clear indication of its solidarity with the Palestinian people and its support for their quest for statehood.
