The UAE is known for being a safe and world-class country for people of different nationalities to live in. However, it is also a nation that prioritizes the well-being and empowerment of people of determination (PoD). In recent years, the UAE has introduced numerous initiatives to support and empower PoD and make the country more PoD-friendly. One such initiative is the introduction of a dedicated PoD card through the Ministry of Community Development, which serves as an official document that identifies the holder as a person of determination.

The PoD card entitles the holder to a range of benefits across different emirates in the UAE. These benefits include exemptions from fees for issuing and renewing Emirates ID cards, passport issuance and renewal fees, priority to complete transactions and travel procedures, private parking and counter, special mobility chair, private waiting room, and more. Additional benefits include discounts on services such as Etisalat and Du packages, scholarships at the Mena College of Management, exclusive offers on Fazaa, and more.

In Abu Dhabi, PoD cardholders can avail benefits such as the Aounak Health Insurance card, special permits for designated parking spaces, free public transport on buses, discounts on taxis, free ferries, exemptions from toll gates fees, free parking at Zayed International Airport, free entry to Louvre Abu Dhabi, and membership at the Armed Forces hotel and club. In Dubai, PoD cardholders can enjoy exemptions from Dubai Salik toll gate fees, free travel on the metro and public buses, discounts on Emirates Airlines tickets, free parking at Dubai International Airport, free entry to Global Village, public parks, top attractions, and more.

In Sharjah, PoD cardholders have easy access to vehicle licensing services and can avail the Absher Health Insurance card, which provides priority on appointments and shortened waiting periods for doctor consultations. Each emirate in the UAE provides specific benefits and services to PoD cardholders, showcasing the nation’s commitment to supporting and empowering individuals with determination. By introducing initiatives such as the PoD card, the UAE reaffirms its position as a leader in creating an inclusive and supportive environment for people of determination.
