Riyadh forum strengthens Saudi-Canadian education partnership and bilateral relations

The Saudi-Canadian Education Partnership Forum was officially launched in Riyadh with the aim of strengthening educational cooperation between the two countries. The event was attended by officials from over 70 Saudi and 40 Canadian entities, including ministries, universities, and companies. Saudi Minister of Education, Yousef Al-Benyan, emphasized the importance of education in achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and preparing students for global competition. He also highlighted the need for collaboration in various sectors such as general and higher education, teacher and medical training, and research and development.

During the forum, Minister Al-Benyan shared insights from his recent visit to Canada, where he explored opportunities for collaboration in education. Canadian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Jean-Philippe Linteau, reiterated the mutual commitment to strengthening educational relations for human capital development and innovation. The forum serves as a platform to discuss areas of cooperation such as information technology, tourism, healthcare, clean energy, mining, and agriculture.

The agenda of the forum focuses on enhancing bilateral collaboration in education, academic research, and medical training through the exchange of experiences, joint research projects, student and faculty exchanges, and knowledge sharing. The event brought together approximately 180 officials from the education, health, academia, and industry sectors of both nations. It also facilitated 215 bilateral meetings between Saudi and Canadian entities, paving the way for future collaborations in education and beyond.

The Saudi Minister of Education emphasized the strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and Canada in education, highlighting the role of education in achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. The forum provides a platform for both countries to explore opportunities for collaboration in various sectors such as general and higher education, early childhood programs, teacher and medical training, and technical and vocational training. Cooperation in research and development is also a key focus area for advancing educational ties between Saudi Arabia and Canada.

The Canadian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia underscored the importance of strengthening educational relations for human capital development and innovation, aiming for a prosperous future for both nations. The forum provides an opportunity to delve into critical areas of educational cooperation, including information technology, tourism, healthcare, clean energy, mining, and agriculture. By enhancing bilateral collaboration, both countries can benefit from sharing knowledge, expertise, and resources in the field of education.

The event featured various sessions that discussed initiatives and partnerships in education, health, and industry. With participation from officials representing a wide range of sectors, the forum provided a platform for fruitful discussions and networking opportunities.
