Omani trade team learns from Singapore’s experience in entrepreneurship and food security

A delegation from Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) recently visited Singapore to learn about the Singaporean experience in entrepreneurship and food security. The delegation met with officials from the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Support institution, discussing ways to achieve government goals in supporting SMEs. They also visited Vidacity Company, which focuses on the agricultural sector, to learn about their experiments, activities, and programmes. Additionally, the delegation visited the headquarters of the Singaporean “Oceans group”, which specializes in food industries, transport, marketing, and financial services, discussing opportunities for collaboration in the food security sector in Oman.

The Omani delegation had a productive meeting with officials from the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Support institution in Singapore, where they were briefed on standard mechanisms to achieve government goals in supporting SMEs. This meeting provided valuable insights into how Singapore has successfully fostered entrepreneurship and supported SME growth. The delegation also had the opportunity to visit Vidacity Company, a key player in the agricultural sector. During the visit, the Omani team gained valuable knowledge about the company’s experiments, activities, and programmes, which could potentially be applied in Oman to enhance food security in the country.

The delegation also visited the headquarters of the Singaporean “Oceans group”, a company specializing in food industries, transport, marketing, and financial services. Discussions with the company focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration and investment in Oman’s food security sector. The meeting highlighted the potential benefits of leveraging the expertise and investments of the Oceans group to enhance food security in the Sultanate of Oman. By engaging with key players in the food industry in Singapore, the Omani delegation gained valuable insights and potential opportunities for collaboration to strengthen food security in Oman.

In addition to visiting Vidacity Company and the Oceans group, the Omani delegation also met with representatives from other Singaporean companies during their visit. These meetings provided a platform for discussing potential areas of collaboration and investment in various sectors, further enhancing bilateral relations between Oman and Singapore. By engaging with a diverse range of Singaporean companies, the delegation was able to explore potential opportunities for partnerships and investments that could benefit Oman’s economy and contribute to its food security goals. The delegation’s engagements with various Singaporean companies underscored the importance of fostering strong economic ties and collaboration between Oman and Singapore to drive mutual growth and development.
