The AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024 saw athletes receiving top-notch medical care from Aspetar Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Doha, Qatar. Aspetar, known internationally for its excellence in sports medicine, partnered with the tournament’s Local Organizing Committee to offer a wide array of medical services to the competitors. This included medical personnel at stadiums, expert guidance on sports injuries, and collaboration with local partners for emergency care and ambulance services.

Hassan Al Kuwari, Executive Director of Marketing and Communications at the LOC, highlighted the importance of leveraging Aspetar’s expertise to provide Asia’s rising football stars with the best available medical care during the tournament. Aspetar also allocated massage and physiotherapists to support referees participating in the event. The medical services were available 24/7, with doctors stationed at team hotels as well as the Medical Command Center.

Dr. Khalid Al Khelaifi, Chief Medical Officer of the LOC’s medical committee, emphasized the legacy of supporting athletes at mega-sporting events in Qatar. The medical team ensured that the future Olympians competing in the tournament performed at their best by receiving exceptional medical care. The AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024 served as Asia’s qualifiers for the Men’s Olympic football tournament in Paris.

Champions Japan, along with runners-up Uzbekistan and third-place finishers Iraq, secured spots at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Indonesia, the fourth-place team, will compete against Africa’s representative Guinea in a play-off match for a final spot at the summer games. Aspetar’s participation in the tournament allowed the hospital to showcase its advanced services in the field of sports medicine, further solidifying Qatar’s position as a premier destination for major sporting events.

Khalid Al Naama, Marketing and Communications Director at Aspetar, expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts with colleagues in the Qatari football community and the local organizing committee. The success of hosting the tournament highlighted Qatar’s excellence in sports events and reinforced Aspetar’s reputation as a center of medical excellence for the Asian Football Confederation. Aspetar, a leading specialized orthopedic and sports medicine hospital in the Middle East since 2007, provides comprehensive medical treatment to athletes with a world-class expert team in a state-of-the-art facility.
