West Ham United manager David Moyes will be leaving the club by mutual consent at the end of the season. The 61-year-old guided West Ham to their first major trophy in over 40 years when they won the Europa Conference League last season. Spanish manager Julen Lopetegui has been linked to replace Moyes at the London Stadium.

Joint-Chairman David Sullivan expressed his gratitude towards Moyes for his contribution and commitment to the club. He mentioned the progress and success that Moyes brought during his time as a manager. The announcement allows Moyes to be given a proper send-off from the West Ham supporters during their final home fixture of the season.

West Ham is currently in ninth place in the league standings with their next match against relegation-threatened Luton Town on Saturday. The decision for Moyes to leave the club came after the team suffered a heavy defeat against Chelsea. Moyes expressed his enjoyment of the four and a half years at West Ham and how the club has improved during his time there.

Moyes reflected on his achievements at West Ham, including leading the team to safety and securing finishes in the top six and seven in the Premier League. He expressed gratitude towards the players for their support and success over the years. The move to part ways with Moyes allows him to explore new opportunities while West Ham prepares for the future under new management.

The decision to part ways with Moyes comes after recent disappointing results for West Ham, with two consecutive heavy defeats away from home. Moyes’ track record of success with the club, including winning their first major trophy in over 40 years, has left a positive impact on West Ham. The club now looks towards the future with a new manager at the helm to continue their progress.

Overall, Moyes’ departure from West Ham marks the end of a successful era for the club. His contributions will be remembered as he moves on to new endeavors in his career. The decision allows both Moyes and West Ham to transition smoothly to new opportunities and challenges in the football world. The future looks bright for both parties as they move forward from this chapter in their history.
