Bahrain welcomes environmental innovation

The Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, highlighted the importance of implementing environmental principles and utilising environmentally friendly technologies to advance Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the 21st Annual Middle East and North Africa Conference. He emphasized the need for oil-producing countries to collaborate and coordinate efforts to enhance energy security. Additionally, Dr. Bin Daina stressed the importance of focusing on renewable energy sources, investing in research and development, and improving energy efficiency practices through training.

The conference attracted over 800 participants from various backgrounds, including ministers, CEOs, entrepreneurs, and business leaders. The event focused on the theme of “Pathways to Prosperity” and highlighted the role of the private sector in protecting the environment while working towards developmental and economic goals. Dr. Bin Daina commended the private sector for its contributions to national and international efforts aimed at environmental preservation.

The minister’s speech underscored the significance of promoting studies, creativity, and innovation in the green economy as a means of advancing sustainable development. He encouraged the use of environmentally friendly technologies to achieve SDGs and emphasized the importance of renewable energy sources in the transition towards a more sustainable energy sector. Dr. Bin Daina’s remarks highlighted the interconnectedness of environmental principles, technological advancements, and energy security in achieving long-term sustainability goals.
