Visit Qatar, led by CEO Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al-Mawlawi, will be participating in the 31st edition of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) conference in Dubai, UAE from May 6 to 9. The goal of Visit Qatar’s participation is to showcase the upcoming destinations that Qatar offers to the travel and tourism industry. The conference will provide an opportunity for exhibitors to explore new areas in the tourism market, highlight the benefits of cooperation, and attract additional investment in the tourism sector.
A diverse delegation team of 43 representatives from the tourism sector will be accompanying Visit Qatar at their double decker stand at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The stand, spanning over 600 square metres with 150 square metres for the upper deck, features a digital ‘inspiration wall’ showcasing Qatar as a tourist destination. Additionally, there will be cultural activities such as Sadu weaving and body oil making, highlighting Qatar’s rich heritage and traditions. Visit Qatar has also partnered with Qinwan to create the ‘Visit Qatar Café’ at the stand.
The Qatar Pavilion at ATM 2024 will feature an interactive activity with an augmented reality device, allowing visitors to take photos and receive them as souvenirs. This year’s conference is themed ‘Empowering Innovation – Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship’, emphasizing the importance of innovation in the travel and tourism industry. Visit Qatar’s increased presence at trade exhibitions aims to establish itself as a key player in the region, providing a platform for discussions with industry leaders.
Qatar has solidified its position as an attractive tourist destination, welcoming almost 1.7 million visitors since the beginning of the year. With a focus on economic diversification in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030, Visit Qatar aims to highlight Qatar’s tourism offerings and future developments at international conferences such as ATM. The country continues to be a highly attractive destination for GCC visitors, with the majority of visitors coming from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, and the UAE.
