Amir to preside over Qatar University graduation on May 8

The Qatar University (QU) is gearing up to celebrate the graduation ceremony for its 47th batch of students under the patronage of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on May 8. The ceremony will honor graduates from various academic degrees including bachelor’s, diploma, master’s, doctorate, and doctor of pharmacy for the semesters Summer 2023, Fall 2023, Winter 2024, and those expected to graduate by the end of Spring 2024. This year, a total of 3,738 graduates will be honored, out of which 2,373 are Qatari nationals. Among them, there are 608 distinguished graduates, including 129 males and 479 females.

The distinguished male graduates will be honored by H H the Amir during the graduation ceremony, while the distinguished female graduates will be honored by Consort of H H the Amir, H H Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani at a separate ceremony on May 9. Dr. Eiman Mustafawi, QU Vice-President for Student Affairs, expressed QU’s commitment to nurturing a new generation of learners ready to contribute to society. Each graduate’s success story reflects their journey and achievements, shaping their role in society’s development and prosperity.

The organizing committee of the graduation ceremony has completed all necessary arrangements and preparations to ensure a successful event. Graduates and their families have been contacted and invited through email, with various teams and committees ready to provide support and respond to inquiries. A dedicated website has been set up with all the information related to the ceremony, dates, and other essential details for graduates to refer to. Dr. Mustafawi expressed pride in the Class of 2024 and encouraged them to continue developing their skills to actively contribute to society and the nation.

The graduation of 3,738 male and female students this year highlights QU’s dedication to shaping a new generation of qualified individuals ready to enter the job market and contribute to nation-building. Each graduate’s unique success story reflects their challenges and achievements during their academic journey, preparing them for the future roles they will play in society’s development and progress. The ceremony will honor male graduates from the distinguished batch during the graduation event, while the distinguished female graduates will be recognized in a separate ceremony on May 9.

The organizing committee has ensured all arrangements and preparations for the graduation ceremony have been completed, with graduates and their families informed through email. Various teams and committees are fully prepared to assist graduates and address any inquiries through social media platforms, the Student Call Center, and email. A dedicated website has been created to provide all necessary information related to the ceremony, ensuring graduates are well-informed about the event and its logistics. Dr. Mustafawi extended best wishes to the Class of 2024 for a bright future filled with opportunities, challenges, and experiences that will help them refine their skills and achieve their dreams, urging them to continue developing their abilities to contribute actively to society and the nation.
