The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) recently organised an exclusive trip for 15 prominent wedding organisers from the United Kingdom, Romania, and several European countries. This initiative demonstrates BTEA’s dedication to attracting more international wedding parties and enhancing Bahrain’s reputation as a top destination for hosting major celebrations. The CEO of BTEA, Her Excellency Sarah Ahmed Buhiji, welcomed the visiting delegation and stressed the importance of providing wedding planning companies with a firsthand experience of the Kingdom’s vibrant wedding sector. The trip also aimed to showcase Bahrain’s variety of wedding-related services, including venues, luxury hotels, and rich cultural heritage.

Mrs. Buhiji highlighted the success of the Authority in attracting 104 major wedding parties since 2017, bringing approximately 39,000 guests and visitors to the Kingdom. She also mentioned the collaboration with private sector tourism establishments, such as hotels and resorts, to ensure seamless wedding experiences for couples and their guests. The extensive flight network of Gulf Air, with direct flights to London and Manchester among its 50 worldwide destinations, enhances accessibility for international guests. Bahrain is well-equipped with international hotels, advanced infrastructure, and specialized wedding and events companies, making it an ideal choice for hosting weddings of any scale.

The tourism development in Bahrain focuses on various initiatives, including marine and sports tourism, beach enhancements, cultural events, and streamlined visa procedures. The Kingdom is home to 75 four- and five-star hotels, providing exceptional hospitality and safety to visitors. In recognition of its efforts, Bahrain was named the “Best International Wedding Destination for 2020” by Travel and Leisure and received the “Best Tourist Destination for Indian Weddings” award at the Wow Asia Awards 2019. These accolades highlight Bahrain’s commitment to offering unparalleled wedding experiences to couples from different parts of the world.

By organising exclusive trips for international wedding organisers, BTEA aims to increase the Kingdom’s visibility as a premier wedding destination and attract more high-profile events to Bahrain. The CEO’s emphasis on collaboration with private sector establishments and Gulf Air’s extensive flight network demonstrates a strategic approach to enhancing accessibility for international guests. Bahrain’s reputation as a safe and hospitable location for weddings is further solidified by its numerous luxury hotels, advanced infrastructure, and specialized wedding services. These factors collectively contribute to making Bahrain an attractive choice for couples planning their special day.

The tourism development initiatives in Bahrain, focusing on various aspects of the industry such as marine tourism, sports events, and cultural activities, underscore the Kingdom’s commitment to providing diverse and memorable experiences to visitors. The numerous awards and accolades received by Bahrain, including recognition from reputable publications and organizations, serve as a testament to the success of its efforts in becoming a sought-after wedding destination. By continuously improving its services and offerings for couples and their guests, Bahrain is well-positioned to attract even more international wedding parties in the future and solidify its reputation as a top choice for hosting major celebrations.

In conclusion, the exclusive trip organised by BTEA for international wedding organisers highlights Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to position itself as a premier wedding destination. Through collaborations with private sector establishments, an extensive flight network, and a focus on tourism development initiatives, Bahrain has successfully attracted numerous major wedding parties and received prestigious awards for its hospitality and services. As Bahrain continues to enhance its offerings for couples planning their weddings, it is poised to become an even more popular choice for hosting memorable and luxurious celebrations.
