Qatar solidifies its position as a regional leader in Corporate Social Responsibility with summit

Qatar CSR Summit 2024 took place in Doha, Qatar, with participants highlighting the country’s leadership in corporate social responsibility (CSR). The event, held under the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, emphasized the significance of CSR in enhancing brand trust. Organized by IFP Qatar, Qatar University, and Mubadara for Social Impact, the summit focused on ‘The Future of CSR in a Circular Economy’ and ran from April 30 to May 2 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).

Sabah Rabiah Al Kuwari, Director of Public Relations, CSR, and Sponsorship at Ooredoo Qatar, highlighted Qatar’s position as a regional leader in CSR. She mentioned that Qatari companies, including Ooredoo, are actively launching various CSR initiatives to contribute to community development. Ooredoo has integrated a comprehensive CSR strategy into its business model to support its commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Similarly, Heba Ali Al Tamimi, Senior Executive Vice President of QNB Group Communications, expressed QNB’s pride in being the official bank for the Qatar CSR Summit for the second consecutive year. This reflects the bank’s vision of delivering long-term value and supporting numerous CSR initiatives. QNB is dedicated to consolidating its efforts in promoting corporate social responsibility and making a positive impact on society.

Hamad Al Hajri, Founder & CEO of Snoonu, reiterated the company’s commitment to enhancing its CSR initiatives. Snoonu focuses on creating employment opportunities for local university graduates and supporting businesses in food recycling to reduce its environmental footprint. The company is proactive in its approach to corporate social responsibility, aligning its operations with sustainable practices to contribute positively to the community and the environment.

The Qatar CSR Summit 2024 showcased the country’s ongoing efforts in the field of CSR and emphasized the importance of businesses integrating responsible practices into their operations. By actively engaging in CSR initiatives, companies like Ooredoo, QNB, and Snoonu are not only contributing to community development but also building trust in their brands. With Qatar leading the way in promoting corporate social responsibility, the summit provided a platform for sharing best practices and inspiring other businesses to follow suit.

The participants reaffirmed the country’s commitment to CSR and emphasized the importance of integrating responsible practices into business operations.
