Qatar is a perfect destination for a quick 24-hour getaway from the UAE, being just an hour away by flight or seven hours by car. In this travel guide, we will explore some must-visit attractions in Qatar that you can cover in a day trip.

After checking in at the Four Seasons The Pearl, Qatar, which is conveniently located in one of Doha’s popular areas, start your day by visiting Qanat Quartier, Qatar’s own version of Venice. This charming area features canals, boats, colourful apartments, bridges, and cafes, offering a picturesque setting for your visit. You can also enjoy the nearby beach and capture Instagram-worthy shots.

Next, head to Katara Cultural Village, situated between The Pearl and West Bay. Here, you can immerse yourself in the local culture by exploring mosques, pigeon towers, art galleries, and shopping at Galeries Lafayette. The village offers a blend of traditional and modern experiences for visitors to enjoy.

In the evening, make your way to Mina District, an old port area transformed into a vibrant neighbourhood with pastel-coloured buildings, a fish market, street art, cafes, and restaurants. Take a leisurely walk along the pier, visit the seafood restaurant Chabrat Al Mina, and explore the nearby Box Park, Flag Plaza, and the iconic Souq Waqif for a taste of local culture.

Before heading back to The Pearl, stop by Place Vendôme, a luxurious mall housing a variety of high-end and mid-range stores, cafes, and restaurants. Enjoy shopping or simply admire the architecture and the dancing fountain shows that take place throughout the day and night.

To end your day on a high note, visit Lusail Stadium, the venue where Lionel Messi lifted the 2022 Fifa World Cup trophy. Witness the stadium’s stunning exterior lights after sunset and take in the grandeur of this iconic sports venue. Finally, head back to the hotel for a well-deserved rest before returning to the UAE.

Before you leave, make sure to explore Hamad International Airport, known for its indoor tropical garden, mini-metro system, and luxury shopping outlets. With these highlights, you can make the most of your short trip to Qatar and experience the country’s diverse offerings. Remember, there’s much more to explore in Qatar beyond these attractions, so plan your next visit to uncover all the hidden gems.
