Players of XDefiant are expressing frustrations with the game’s slow weapon leveling system, claiming that progress towards the next weapon level feels painfully slow despite achieving numerous kills in multiple matches. Since its announcement in 2021, XDefiant has faced delays and finally launched on May 21 as a free-to-play FPS. As players explore the 6v6 game modes, they are encountering both strengths and weaknesses, with one major issue being the extended time it takes to level up weapons.

On platforms like Reddit and Twitter, players are voicing their dissatisfaction with the slow weapon progression in XDefiant. Many players are reporting that despite getting dozens of kills per game, the XP earned feels insufficient, making it challenging to advance to higher weapon levels. In response to these complaints, XDefiant developer PATTYP clarified on Twitter that each weapon level requires 3500 XP, with each kill granting 100 XP. This means that achieving 35 kills should be enough to level up, and assists also contribute to the XP count, possibly reducing the required grind. PATTYP also mentioned the possibility of a tracking bug affecting some players, preventing their kills from accurately converting into XP.

Overall, players are finding the weapon leveling system in XDefiant to be slow and frustrating, hindering their ability to progress in the game. The clarification provided by the developer regarding XP requirements and kill counts is helping to shed some light on the issue, but players are still experiencing difficulties with the system. As the community continues to provide feedback and raise concerns, it is essential for developers to address these issues promptly to ensure a positive gaming experience for all players.

Despite the challenges with the weapon leveling system, XDefiant offers an engaging gameplay experience with its 6v6 game modes and unique mechanics. Players have been enjoying the fast-paced action and variety of weapons and abilities available in the game. However, the slow progression system is detracting from the overall enjoyment of the game for many players, highlighting the importance of balancing progression and gameplay elements to keep players engaged and satisfied.

Moving forward, XDefiant developers should prioritize addressing the concerns raised by players regarding the weapon leveling system to improve the overall experience for all players. By optimizing the XP earning process and addressing any tracking bugs that may be affecting progression, the developers can ensure that players feel rewarded for their efforts and are motivated to continue playing and engaging with the game. Open communication with the community and a willingness to make necessary adjustments based on player feedback will be crucial in maintaining a positive and supportive gaming environment for XDefiant players.

In conclusion, the slow weapon leveling system in XDefiant is a significant issue that players are encountering, leading to frustrations and dissatisfaction. While the developer has provided some clarification on the XP requirements and potential bugs affecting progression, more work is needed to address the underlying issues and improve the overall gaming experience. By taking player feedback into account and making adjustments to the progression system, XDefiant can create a more rewarding and enjoyable experience for all players, ensuring the long-term success of the game in the competitive FPS market.
