This week in Europe is filled with exciting events and entertainment. George Miller’s ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’ is hitting cinema screens, along with a new supernatural German TV series on Disney+. The UK is celebrating 100 years of royal photography with an exhibition at Buckingham Palace. Additionally, the Cannes 2024 film festival has come to an end.

For art lovers, ‘Royal Portraits: A Century of Photography’ at The King’s Gallery in Buckingham Palace showcases an extensive collection of royal family portraits over the past century. From iconic images to never-before-seen photographs, the exhibition presents a unique perspective on British royalty. On the other hand, train enthusiasts can enjoy the new hall at the Locomotion museum in Shildon, which houses the largest collection of indoor railway vehicles.

In Wales, the ‘HowTheLightGetsIn Festival’ in Hay-on-Wye brings together leading thinkers to discuss big ideas and new perspectives. From philosophy to music, this festival offers a diverse range of events that aim to challenge and enlighten attendees. Also, on 25 May, fans around the world will be celebrating ‘Towel Day’ in honor of Douglas Adams, the author of ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’.

Movie buffs can look forward to ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’, a prequel to the popular ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’. This film focuses on the character of Furiosa and her quest for revenge in a post-apocalyptic world. Meanwhile, television series ‘Pauline’ on Disney+ follows the story of a young woman who discovers she is gestating the devil’s grandson after a one-night stand gone wrong.

In the music scene, Bat For Lashes released the single ‘At Your Feet’ from her upcoming album ‘The Dream of Delphi’. The song channels a mystical and watery vibe, perfect for immersing oneself in emotions and nature. With a Twin Peaks-esque music video, it promises to enchant listeners.

Overall, this week in Europe offers a diverse range of entertainment options, from art exhibitions to film festivals and new releases in music and television. Whether you’re a fan of philosophy, cinema, or music, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
