The 2024 Olympics in Paris continues to bring exciting sports action, including the upcoming quarterfinal matchup between Algerian boxer Imane Khelif and Hungary’s Anna Luca Hamori. The highly anticipated fight is set to take place at 05:22 pm CET where both boxers will be looking to secure a spot in the next round.

Another highlight of the Olympics is American gymnast Simon Biles who is aiming to win her third gold medal in the vault event. Biles has already claimed gold in the individual all-around and the team all-around, solidifying her position as a gymnastics legend. The competition in the vault final promises to be intense, with defending Olympic champion Rebeca Andrade of Brazil posing a tough challenge.

One athlete to watch out for is Sha’Carri Richardson, who missed the Tokyo Games due to a positive marijuana test. Richardson, the reigning world champion in the women’s 100 meters, will have the opportunity to compete for a medal in this event. The competition could also feature three-time Olympic gold medalist Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica, adding excitement to the race.

Legendary swimmer Katie Ledecky is seeking another gold medal in the women’s 800-meter freestyle event. A victory would make her the only swimmer, alongside Michael Phelps, to win four gold medals in the same event. Ledecky, the world record holder in the distance, is expected to be a strong contender for the top spot on the podium.

The women’s boxing quarterfinals will see a match between Imane Khelif of Algeria and Anna Luca Hamori of Hungary. The Hungarian Boxing Association has raised concerns about the participation of Khelif, who was previously disqualified from the 2023 world championships. Despite the controversy, Khelif will face Hamori in a highly anticipated bout.

In women’s football, the US team will square off against Japan in the quarterfinals. The Americans, who finished atop Group B, will be aiming to continue their winning streak and secure a spot in the next round. Other quarterfinal matchups include France vs. Brazil, Spain vs. Colombia, and Canada vs. Germany, promising thrilling games for football fans.

On the basketball court, the United States men’s team will play against winless Puerto Rico in their final group-stage game. The US team is looking to secure the top seed ahead of the knockout rounds, aiming for a strong performance in the upcoming match. In women’s tennis, the final will feature a showdown between China’s Zheng Qinwen and Croatia’s Donna Vekic as both players vie for their first Olympic singles gold medal.
