The MET Gala 2024, themed ‘The Garden of Time’, took place on May 6th, raising funds for the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute in New York. Renowned personalities worldwide graced the red carpet, showcasing styles inspired by J.G. Ballard’s story. The exhibit aimed to blend old and new fashion aspects, such as florals and time-travel-inspired designs.

Met Museum Director Max Hollein emphasized the sensory experience of the event, encouraging attendees to pay homage to the magic of fashion. The gala hosts were Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth, following the leads of last year’s star-studded lineup. Among them was Anna Wintour, who has shaped the Met Gala into a glamorous fashion extravaganza since 1995.

Zendaya, styled by Law Roach, impressed in two different John Galliano creations, showcasing a royal blue and emerald green dress before transforming into a black gown adorned with flowers. Emma Chamberlain rocked a custom dark brown lace Jean Paul Gaultier gown, adding a goth twist to her ensemble. Alia Bhatt chose a sari by Sabysachi Mukherjee, although falling slightly short in structure and silhouette.

Demi Moore shined in a Haris Reed velvet gown adorned with silk organza flowers, showcasing the intricate hand embroidery on the ensemble. Gigi Hadid stunned in a Thom Browne off-shoulder dress with a detachable skirt featuring prominent ruffles and embroidered yellow roses. Nicki Minaj dazzled in a Marni gown embellished with hand-painted recycled aluminum flowers, sculpting her figure like a museum-worthy masterpiece.

Usher exuded an exotic vibe in an Alexander McQueen voluminous cloak, topped with a leather hat, a shimmering black tuxedo, and sharp shoes — one of the best-dressed men at the gala. Each attendee brought a unique interpretation of the ‘The Garden of Time’ theme, showcasing their creativity and fashion-forward vision at the iconic MET Gala 2024.
