Jenna Ortega, a popular actress known for her roles in Beetlejuice and Netflix’s Wednesday, recently deleted her Twitter account due to receiving objectionable AI-generated content related to her. In a recent interview, she spoke about her experience with AI and expressed her dislike towards it, stating that such technology can be terrifying and corrupt. Ortega mentioned that while AI can be used for positive things, her experience with it has been negative, especially during her teenage years when she was targeted with inappropriate content online.

Ortega shared her frustration about being pressured to build her image through social media, specifically Twitter, when she was younger. She explained that despite initially having an account, she eventually deleted it a few years ago due to the overwhelming amount of inappropriate content she received after gaining popularity. The disturbing images and photos made her feel uncomfortable and prompted her to remove herself from the platform altogether. Ortega’s decision to delete her account was a result of wanting to protect her mental health and well-being from the negative impact of the harmful content she was exposed to.

The Emmy-nominated actor emphasized the importance of taking care of one’s mental health and well-being in the face of cyberbullying and online harassment. She highlighted the detrimental effects of online negativity and how it can impact a person’s self-esteem and confidence, especially when they are young and vulnerable. Ortega’s decision to prioritize her mental health by removing herself from toxic online environments serves as a reminder of the importance of setting boundaries and protecting oneself from harmful content on social media platforms.

Despite her negative experiences with AI and social media, Ortega remains focused on her upcoming projects, including an adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel Klara and the Sun directed by Taika Waititi. In this film, she plays the role of the titular robot, showcasing her talent and versatility as an actor. Ortega’s dedication to her craft and her ability to navigate the challenges of being a young woman in Hollywood demonstrate her resilience and determination to succeed in a competitive industry.

As Beetlejuice Beetlejuice prepares for its release in UAE theaters on September 5, Ortega’s fans eagerly anticipate her performance and continue to support her work. Her decision to prioritize her mental health over social media validation serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of self-care and setting boundaries in an increasingly digital world. Ortega’s candid remarks about her experiences with AI and online harassment shed light on the darker side of the entertainment industry and the challenges faced by young actors in a technology-driven society. Overall, Ortega’s resilience and dedication to her craft inspire others to prioritize their well-being and pursue their dreams despite the obstacles they may encounter.
