Weekend Forecast: Strong Winds with Blowing Dust

The Qatar Meteorological Department has announced that Qatar will experience fresh to strong Northwesterly winds both inshore and offshore from Friday, October 4, 2024, until Saturday, October 5, 2024. In addition to the strong winds, there will be slight dust blowing at times, with sea waves ranging between 3-7ft and potentially rising to 10ft. The weekend weather forecast indicates that maximum temperatures for Thursday and Friday will reach 38 degrees celsius, with low temperatures of 30 and 29 degrees celsius respectively. Saturday’s high temperature is expected to drop slightly to 37 degrees celsius, while the low temperature will be 29 degrees celsius.

Both Friday and Saturday are expected to have strong winds and high sea levels, with hot daytime temperatures and slight dust blowing throughout the day. Thursday’s weather forecast predicts hot weather with the possibility of local cloud formation by noon. The wind direction on Thursday will be Northwesterly-Northeasterly at 5-15 KT, increasing to Northwesterly winds of 10-20 KT on both Friday and Saturday, with gusts reaching 28 and 25 KT respectively. Sea levels are expected to be at 2-4ft on Thursday, rising to 6ft in the late night hours, and ranging between 3-7ft on both Friday and Saturday, potentially rising to 10ft.
