The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a warning on Friday morning to motorists regarding poor visibility caused by fog formation. The met sent out a red alert, notifying residents of a deterioration in horizontal visibility, which may drop even further at times until 9 am. This warning comes after the UAE has been experiencing foggy conditions for the past few days. The weather department had forecasted thick fog and advised residents to prepare for a few foggy days ahead, particularly when driving on the Dubai-Abu Dhabi road.

Abu Dhabi Police and Dubai Police have also issued warnings to motorists to exercise caution due to reduced visibility during the fog. Abu Dhabi Police called on drivers to follow changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards, while Dubai Police urged motorists to drive safely due to low visibility caused by fog formation across some parts of the emirate. While the met had forecasted foggy conditions in some parts of the country this morning, the weather today is expected to be fair in general and partly cloudy at times.

Humid conditions are expected by night and will continue over Saturday morning with fog or mist formation over some coastal and internal areas. Light to moderate winds, freshening at times, are expected to blow in the country. The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea. It is advised that motorists and residents stay up to date with the latest news and updates regarding the foggy conditions and take necessary precautions when driving on the roads.

In conclusion, with the foggy conditions persisting in the UAE, it is important for motorists to exercise caution and follow the guidelines set by the authorities. By staying informed and prepared, residents can ensure their safety and the safety of others while navigating through the foggy weather. It is essential to drive at reduced speeds, maintain a safe distance between vehicles, and use headlights and hazard lights when necessary. Furthermore, staying updated with the latest weather forecasts and alerts will help individuals plan their journeys accordingly and avoid any potential risks associated with poor visibility on the roads.
