Visit Qatar, the marketing and promotional arm of Qatar Tourism, has partnered with Huawei, a global tech giant, to enhance the tourism experience for Chinese visitors and promote Qatar as a premier travel destination in the Chinese market. Through the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by Engr. Abdulaziz Ali Al Mawlawi, CEO of Visit Qatar, and Justin Chen, Global President of Petal Ads, Huawei Consumer Cloud, the collaboration aims to effectively reach and engage with potential travelers, boosting Qatar’s visibility and appeal among Chinese tourists. This partnership was announced at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024, showcasing the commitment to developing a comprehensive travel ecosystem in Qatar.

The collaboration between Visit Qatar and Huawei will involve integrating Huawei products like SkyTone for roaming data, Huawei Wallet for payments, Petal Maps for tourist attraction promotion, and AI travel assistants to offer visitors interactive and immersive tourism experiences showcasing Qatar’s scenic spots. Leveraging Petal Ads capabilities, the MoU seeks to position Qatar as a leading travel destination for Chinese tourists through joint marketing initiatives and Huawei’s extensive media resources. This partnership is a testament to both parties’ commitment to growth and excellence in the tourism sector, with a focus on attracting more Chinese tourists and investors to Qatar.

Engr. Al Mawlawi expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing the importance of developing a comprehensive travel ecosystem in Qatar and introducing advanced technologies to visitors to enhance their experience. With China being a top priority market for Visit Qatar, the strategic partnership with Huawei is expected to lead to a significant rise in visitors to the country. Justin Chen from Huawei echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the company’s commitment to leveraging its technological expertise and user base to enhance the travel experience for visitors to Qatar. Through innovative and engaging experiences, the collaboration aims to inspire more Chinese travelers to explore Qatar as a top travel destination.

Overall, the collaboration between Visit Qatar and Huawei represents a strategic alliance aimed at boosting Qatar’s appeal as a travel destination for Chinese tourists. By leveraging Huawei’s advertising platform and integrating their products into the travel ecosystem, the partnership seeks to enhance the overall tourism experience for visitors to Qatar. With a focus on joint marketing initiatives and innovative technologies, the MoU signed at ATM 2024 sets the stage for increased visibility and engagement with Chinese travelers, ultimately positioning Qatar as a leading destination in the Chinese market.
