Noah Malone, a rising star of the US Paralympic athletics team, attributes his success to his mother LaTasha Sturdivant who pushed him to pursue his goals despite his initial reluctance towards the sport. At the age of 22, Malone won the silver medal in the T12 400 meters event at the Paralympics in Paris, adding to his previous gold and silver medals from the Tokyo Games. Diagnosed with Leber’s hereditary optic neuropathy at the age of 13, Malone’s family has played a crucial role in his journey to becoming a Paralympic star.

Malone’s strong bond with his family was evident as he ran straight to them after winning the silver medal in Paris, expressing gratitude for their unwavering support. They have been his biggest supporters throughout his athletic career and he regards them as the real winners behind his success. Malone’s love for basketball is still evident, as he finds solace in being a part of a team during relay events, relieving him of the nerves he feels during individual races. With a bright future ahead, Malone and his teammates promise a strong showing for Team USA in the next Paralympics in Los Angeles.

Despite the challenges of competing in three events and the intense pressure of the Paralympic Games, Malone remained grateful for the opportunity to represent his country on the world stage. He reflected on the rollercoaster of emotions and stressful moments that come with elite competition, emphasizing the importance of enjoying the experience amidst the pressure. Malone acknowledged the privilege of being able to compete at such a high level and expressed his gratitude for the support of his family and the chance to represent his country on the podium.

Looking ahead, Malone is optimistic about the future of the US Paralympic team, especially with a young and talented group of athletes like Ezra Frech and Jaydin Blackwell who have also brought home gold medals. As they prepare for the next Paralympics, Malone is confident in the team’s potential to continue their success and increase the medal count for Team USA. With a strong support system and a drive to succeed, Noah Malone exemplifies the spirit of determination and resilience that defines Paralympic athletes worldwide.
