University of Birmingham wins 2024 Catalyst Award

The University of Bahrain (UoB) has recently been awarded the 2024 Catalyst Award in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging by Anthology, a global provider of e-learning systems. Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al Ansari, President of UoB, emphasized that this award is a testament to the university’s dedication to utilizing technology to provide a comprehensive and innovative educational experience. UoB was chosen among 35 winners in nine award categories for delivering an outstanding educational experience and promoting innovation and excellence in education, thereby enhancing its global reputation.

Dr. Al Ansari highlighted that the award recognizes UoB’s efforts in leveraging technology to enhance education through the integration of modern and advanced tools within e-learning systems. These tools are designed to improve the learning experience by making it more interactive and inclusive, while also encouraging educational institutions to adopt comprehensive and innovative teaching practices. The university’s commitment to utilizing technology for educational purposes has been instrumental in securing this prestigious award.

The Catalyst Award program received a total of 108 applicants from educational institutions across 19 nations worldwide, spanning nine different categories. These categories include Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, Institutional Advancement, Leading Change, Student Experience, Student Success, Teaching and Learning, and Training and Professional Development. UoB’s success in winning the award in the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging category further demonstrates its commitment to promoting diversity and inclusivity within the academic community.

In addition to the recent Catalyst Award, the University of Bahrain has also received the Excellence in Innovation Award in 2022, which is presented annually by Anthology. These accolades reflect UoB’s ongoing dedication to innovation and excellence in education, as well as its proactive approach to leveraging technology for educational advancement. The university’s consistent recognition in prestigious award programs underscores its reputation as a leader in academic innovation and educational excellence.
