The highly anticipated DP World Tour Championship Pro-Am Challenge series is set to tee off again, offering golfers from across the UAE a ‘once in a lifetime’ chance to play alongside some of the sport’s most legendary names in Dubai this November. The annual competition, previously dubbed the ‘Luckiest Ball on Earth’, is open to all golfers who hold an Official Club Handicap recognized by the Emirates Golf Federation. It has given over 36 amateur golfers the unbelievable experience of playing alongside some of their most treasured sporting heroes including Tommy Fleetwood, Viktor Hovland, Rory McIlroy, and last year’s DP World Tour Championship winner Nicolai Højgaard, since its launch in 2011.

Eight participating golf clubs across the Emirates will now hold qualifying tournaments from 8th September until 20th October, with the winning three males, females, and juniors securing their place in the Grand Final at Jumeirah Golf Estates on Saturday 2nd November 2024. The overall male, female, and junior winner will then receive a highly sought-after spot to play in the DP World Tour Championship Pro-Am which will be held on Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates on Tuesday 12th November 2024. The DP World Tour Championship sees the top 50 players on the DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai competing to be named Champion and to lift the Harry Vardon trophy. This year’s tournament will take place from 14th – 17th November on Earth course, Jumeirah Golf Estates.

Tom Phillips, Director of the Middle East, DP World Tour, expressed his excitement for the DP World Tour Championship Pro-Am Challenge, highlighting how it provides a golden opportunity for amateur golfers to play shoulder to shoulder with the sport’s biggest stars. He commended the qualifying golf clubs and the Emirates Golf Federation for their contributions in making this fantastic local golf initiative possible, encouraging all talented amateurs to get involved and potentially secure a spot in the championship. The participating golf clubs for the qualifying tournaments include Jumeirah Golf Estates (Earth course), Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club, Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, Al Hamra Golf Club, Ras Al Khaimah, Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, Yas Links Abu Dhabi, Emirates Golf Club, and Abu Dhabi Golf Club.

The opportunity for amateur golfers in the UAE to play in the DP World Tour Championship Pro-Am alongside world-renowned golfers is a rare and exciting one. With qualifying tournaments set to take place across eight prestigious golf clubs in the Emirates, golf enthusiasts have a chance to showcase their skills and potentially earn a spot in the Grand Final at Jumeirah Golf Estates. The Pro-Am Challenge series, known for its ‘Luckiest Ball on Earth’, has previously allowed amateur golfers to play alongside legends like Tommy Fleetwood and Rory McIlroy, creating unforgettable experiences and cherished memories for participants since its inception in 2011.

The Grand Final at Jumeirah Golf Estates on November 2nd is the ultimate prize for the winning three males, females, and juniors from the qualifying tournaments. The chance to play on the Earth course on November 12th alongside top players in the DP World Tour Championship Pro-Am is a dream come true for many golf enthusiasts. The DP World Tour Championship itself attracts the top 50 players on the Race to Dubai, competing for the prestigious title and the Harry Vardon trophy. With the tournament scheduled from November 14th to 17th, golf fans can look forward to witnessing world-class golfing action on the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

The DP World Tour Championship Pro-Am Challenge not only provides an opportunity for amateur golfers to showcase their skills but also brings the community together in celebrating the sport of golf. Partnered with qualifying golf clubs and the Emirates Golf Federation, the event is a testament to the commitment towards promoting golf in the UAE and nurturing local talent in the sport. As golf enthusiasts gear up for the qualifying tournaments, the excitement and anticipation for the chance to play alongside their sporting idols continue to grow. The Pro-Am Challenge series remains a highlight in the golfing calendar, offering a unique experience and a platform for aspiring golfers to shine on the course.
