The 2024 Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship (AAC) is set to kick off with a field of 120 golfers from 43 APGC member nations, including UAE’s Rayan Ahmed and Abdulla Kalbat. Rayan, a 17-year-old talented golfer, aims to utilize his local knowledge of Japan’s Taiheiyo Club Gotemba to compete in the tournament. Abdulla, the UAE’s top-ranked player in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, is also prepared for the challenge. Both players have showcased their skills in various tournaments, with Rayan recently winning silver medals in Tunisia.

Rayan and Abdulla are excited to be participating in the AAC held in Japan, where they will face a competitive field of top men amateurs in the region. They will be competing against players from China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Australia, and Japan, among others. The tournament is taking place just 100 kilometers from Tokyo, at the foothills of Mount Fuji, in a country known for its passion for golf. The championship will be broadcast live on television, making it accessible to a global audience.

The UAE has a history of success in the AAC, with players like Rayhan Thomas and Ahmed Skaik achieving notable results in previous editions of the tournament. This year, Rayan and Abdulla are hoping to make their mark and continue the legacy of UAE golfers in the competition. The AAC is a prestigious event supported by the APGC, The Masters, and The R&A, showcasing the best talent in the Asia-Pacific region. The tournament format includes 72 holes of play, with a cut after 36 holes to the leading 60 players.

As the players gear up for the tournament, they are adjusting to the challenges of the golf course, which is known for its long and tight fairways. Rayan, in particular, is drawing on his previous experience at the Taiheiyo Club Gotemba to navigate the course effectively. With their skills, determination, and local knowledge, both players are optimistic about their chances in the competition. The AAC provides an opportunity for them to test their skills against their peers and make an impact on the international stage.

In conclusion, the participation of Rayan Ahmed and Abdulla Kalbat in the 2024 Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship highlights the growing talent and potential of UAE golfers on the global stage. With their dedication, skill, and competitive spirit, they are set to represent their country with pride and showcase their abilities in a field of top men amateurs from the region. The AAC promises to be a thrilling competition, and the UAE players are ready to make their mark and vie for success in the prestigious championship.
