The UAE has emerged as a popular destination for dream weddings, with couples opting for extravagant ceremonies. Stefine Heller, a wedding planner, has noticed a 20% increase in wedding budgets over the last two years. She mentioned that new technologies, such as AI-generated designs, are being used in wedding planning, although the cost may be a limiting factor. AI wedding designs involve creating customised and elaborate decor elements like lighting, ceiling decorations, and thematic settings that go beyond traditional wedding decor.

Kunal Rupani, a spokesperson for The Big Night, highlighted the impact of AI on wedding trends, leading to larger-scale decor themes and designs, ultimately raising wedding budgets. Social media and technological advancements have also influenced client expectations, with modern couples seeking unique and customized experiences. The recent Ambani wedding in India, estimated to cost Dh2.2 billion, showcased a lavish and extravagant event that captured global attention, setting new standards for weddings worldwide.

Rupani predicts a rise in destination weddings and social events in the UAE, attributing the growing trend to the country’s rapid development and appeal as a top event destination. Global inflation has also played a role in escalating wedding expenses in Dubai, affecting venue rentals, floral arrangements, and other aspects of wedding planning. Dubai’s accessibility to global entertainment and proximity to cities like Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah offer couples diverse options for their wedding events.

Maximizing value and setting priorities are crucial in wedding planning, according to Heller. Couples are advised to identify their priorities and invest wisely in elements that hold the most significance to them, whether it be entertainment, floral decorations, or culinary experiences. Essential wedding elements like floral arrangements, lighting, entertainment, and photography are key priorities that should not be overlooked in wedding planning. Pricing is influenced by various factors, and planners aim to maximize value while staying within the client’s budget.

Establishing long-term relationships with vendors can help in securing competitive prices and maintaining quality standards in wedding planning. Heller emphasized the importance of working with reliable partners to negotiate prices and meet the rising demands of suppliers. As the wedding industry continues to evolve with advancements in technology and changing client preferences, planners strive to deliver exceptional and memorable experiences for couples celebrating their special day.
