The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) in the UAE issued a warning late on Sunday about the possibility of fog and mist formation that could lead to a deterioration in horizontal visibility past midnight. The Met department stated that visibility could decrease even further over some northern coastal and internal areas from 12:30 am to 08:30 am on Monday. The alert was posted on X, informing residents to take precautions while driving during these conditions.

In addition to the fog and mist advisory, the NCM had also issued a yellow alert earlier in the day due to rough sea conditions and active winds reaching speeds of 40 km/hour on Sunday. The Met department noted that the sea in the Arabian Gulf is turbulent, with wave heights reaching 7 feet in depth. These conditions are expected to last from 1:00 pm today until 2:00 pm on Monday, June 3. Residents and beachgoers are advised to stay cautious and avoid any water-related activities during this time.

As the fog and mist formation increases the risk of reduced visibility on the roads, drivers are urged to be extra cautious and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. The NCM’s warning serves as a reminder for motorists to use their fog lights and hazard lights appropriately in order to ensure the safety of everyone on the roads. It is important for all drivers to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and advisories to better prepare for any challenging driving conditions.

Taking necessary precautions in advance can help prevent any potential accidents or road mishaps during the period of reduced visibility caused by the fog and mist formation. By following the guidelines provided by the NCM and other relevant authorities, residents in the UAE can stay safe and reduce the risks associated with driving in challenging weather conditions. It is crucial for individuals to prioritize safety and exercise caution while navigating the roads during this time.

In conclusion, the warnings issued by the NCM regarding fog and mist formation, along with the rough sea conditions and active winds, highlight the importance of being prepared and staying informed about potential weather hazards. By staying updated on the latest alerts and advisories, residents can take proactive measures to ensure their safety and the safety of others. It is crucial for everyone in the UAE to heed these warnings, follow safety guidelines, and drive responsibly to navigate through the challenging weather conditions. Stay safe and be vigilant during this period of increased risk on the roads.
