Anca Mateiu’s exceptional performance, with strong rounds of 66, 66, and 70, earned her a commanding seven-shot victory in the Individual Division. Her teammates Aasiya and Sara secured second and third place respectively, highlighting the UAE’s dominance in the competition. In a competitive Ladies’ Division, Morocco’s Sofia Essakali claimed the top spot, with the UAE’s Intissar Rich securing second place. The UAE team also put up a strong performance in the Ladies’ Team Division, finishing second behind Team Morocco. Despite the tough competition, the UAE golfers displayed their skills and determination throughout the championship.
The tournament featured eleven countries, including Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Lebanon, showcasing the diversity and competitiveness of the field. Both the Ladies’ and Girl’s Under-16 divisions were held over 54 holes, with World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points available. The event highlighted the growth of golf in the region and the potential of young talents emerging from the UAE and other Arab countries.
