Indian curriculum schools in the UAE are gearing up for their half-yearly examinations, which are mostly scheduled for the second week of September. Principals have confirmed that the syllabi for the upcoming exams were completed before the summer break, with some schools sharing revision plans and exam schedules with students and parents ahead of the holidays. Indian schools in the UAE began their new academic session in April and completed a significant portion of the syllabus before the long summer vacation started on July 8.

According to Lini Shivaprasad, Principal of GEMS Millennium School – Sharjah, term examinations are scheduled to begin in the second week of September for Grades 3 to 9 and 11. The exam timetable and related syllabus were shared with students before the closure of school for the summer break to allow students to plan their learning schedules during the break. Additionally, a revision plan was shared with parents before students returned to school on August 26.

Students are currently engaged in learning and preparing for the forthcoming assessments, as highlighted by school heads. Abhilasha Singh, Principal of Shining Star International, mentioned that the half-yearly examinations will begin in the third week of September, with revision done a few days before the exams commence. Target-setting based on previous performance is conducted within the first two days of school reopening, with students setting their own targets and teachers providing extra support to those who require intervention.

Principals of Indian curriculum schools in the UAE are focusing on enhancing academic and extracurricular experiences for students in the upcoming semester. Deepika Thapar Singh, CEO-Principal of Credence High School, mentioned that as the new semester kicks off, there is a strong emphasis on assessments to enhance teaching and learning. Students across all levels will be taking their half-yearly exams starting from October 7, with dedicated teachers offering support through revision worksheets, quizzes, and practice tests to ensure students feel prepared and self-assured.

In addition to academic preparations, students are also eagerly preparing for intra- and inter-school competitions in sports and scholastic activities. Principals emphasize the importance of achieving a balance between academic pursuits and extracurricular engagements, nurturing the holistic development of students and fostering a well-rounded approach to education and personal growth. The commitment to providing comprehensive support to students during exam preparations is evident from the various initiatives undertaken by the schools to ensure student success in the upcoming assessments.
