The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has recently completed a major infrastructure project in the Al Sajaah Industrial Area. The project involved the construction of a network of main roads with a total length of 9.5 km. It features the construction of two new roads, including one from Intersection No. 8 on Al Dhaid Road towards the Al Sajaah area. This road includes two additional lanes, 2.2 km long, 7.4 metres wide, with a 12-metre-wide central median and four pedestrian crossings with traffic signals for enhancing safety.

In addition to the new roads, two U-turns and six slip roads have been added at key roundabouts in the Al Sajaah Industrial Area to improve traffic flow, especially for trucks and commercial vehicles. The project also includes the addition of six public bus stops on both sides of the road, along with roads and parking spaces for nearby mosques, providing a total of 144 parking spots. These enhancements aim to make commuting easier and safer for the residents and workers in the area.

Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, Chairman of SRTA, detailed the construction of a new road consisting of a single carriageway with two lanes in each direction, connecting the ninth intersection on Al Dhaid Road to the Hudaybiya district. This 3.8 km road includes asphalt shoulders, a protective barrier for vehicles, and foundations for lighting poles to ensure visibility and safety for all road users. The aim is to provide a seamless and efficient transportation network for the residents and businesses in the Al Sajaah Industrial Area.

The remaining part of the project in the Al Sajaah Industrial Area involves constructing single carriageways with two lanes in each direction. These roads will be 7.3 metres wide and extend 3.5 km, designed to ensure smooth and uninterrupted vehicle flow with controlled entry and exit points connecting to the main road. The development of these roads will further enhance connectivity within the industrial area and facilitate the movement of goods and services, contributing to the overall economic growth of the region.

The completion of the infrastructure project in the Al Sajaah Industrial Area showcases the commitment of the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority to enhancing the transportation infrastructure in the emirate. By expanding and improving the road network, the SRTA aims to provide a safe and efficient transportation system for residents, visitors, and businesses in Sharjah. These developments will not only reduce traffic congestion but also promote economic development and growth in the region.

Overall, the infrastructure project in the Al Sajaah Industrial Area is a significant step towards improving the road network and transportation facilities in Sharjah. With the addition of new roads, pedestrian crossings, bus stops, and parking spaces, the SRTA aims to create a more sustainable and accessible transportation system for everyone. The completion of this project marks a milestone in the efforts to enhance the overall quality of life and infrastructure in the emirate of Sharjah.
