In recent times, the demand for mould-related services in the UAE has seen a significant surge, especially during the summer season. Many residents have been facing issues with mould infestations in their homes, leading to health concerns and the need for professional assistance. Companies specializing in mould removal and air purification have reported a considerable increase in inquiries and service requests during this period. The rise in mould-related problems has been attributed to factors such as poor ventilation, inadequate maintenance, outdated AC systems, and the practice of turning off air conditioning units during vacations.

One such expat, Moodley, returned from a vacation to find her apartment in Barsha Heights covered in mould, leading to severe health problems and financial losses. Like many other residents, she had to seek professional help to address the mould infestation in her home. DIY methods may not always be effective in dealing with severe mould issues, as certain surfaces and materials require specialized treatment. Furthermore, leaving homes unoccupied without air conditioning during the summer can create a humid environment conducive to mould growth, emphasizing the importance of proper maintenance and ventilation.

Experts recommend preventive measures such as regular maintenance of AC systems, maintaining indoor humidity levels below 60% RH, and investing in equipment like hygrometers and dehumidifiers to mitigate the risk of mould infestations. Identifying and addressing leaks, sealing furniture surfaces, and managing humidity levels are essential steps in preventing mould growth in homes. Mould infestations can have detrimental effects on health, causing a range of symptoms such as respiratory issues, allergies, and asthma exacerbation. Prompt action is necessary to address mould problems and ensure a healthy indoor environment.

Professional assistance may be required to effectively remove mould, especially in cases of severe infestations. Companies specializing in mould remediation and air purification can provide the necessary expertise and equipment to address the issue thoroughly. It is crucial for residents to be aware of the signs of mould growth, such as musty smells, moisture sources, and visual indications on surfaces. Taking proactive steps to maintain a clean and well-ventilated living environment can help prevent mould-related problems and safeguard the health of residents.
