Traffic congestion is a daily struggle for many residents in Dubai and Sharjah, with bottleneck stretches and slow-moving traffic jams causing significant delays. With only one exit leading to major highways in several communities, hundreds of cars pile up during peak hours, resulting in long waits and frustrating commutes. Residents like Ahmed Rizwan, an engineer at a telecom firm, describe how it takes about 25 minutes just to cross the exit, compared to his previous half-hour commute to the office. Dr. Ghadeer H, an Egyptian dentist, faces similar challenges in Al Tawoon, Sharjah, where she juggles dropping off her children before heading to her clinic, navigating through severe congestion every morning.

Residents of Jumeirah Village Circle (JVC) also grapple with daily traffic issues due to limited access points to the nearest highway, creating stress and frustration during peak hours. Dr. Mustafa Aldah, an Emirati traffic and transportation safety expert, shares his struggles with traffic in JVC, where he must choose between a shorter, jam-packed route or a longer, less stressful alternative. Recent closures of major junctions have added to the area’s traffic congestion, leaving residents wondering about the lack of information and construction updates.

As an expert in traffic and transportation safety, Dr. Mustafa Aldah offers valuable advice on navigating congestion more efficiently and safely, sharing tips for residents to reduce stress and stay safe on the roads. Some of his suggestions include being cautious when road surfaces change, checking real-time traffic updates through navigation apps, and carpooling with neighbors or colleagues to reduce the number of vehicles on the road. By following these tips, commuters can navigate through daily traffic challenges more effectively and improve their overall commuting experience in Dubai and Sharjah.
