UAE President expresses sorrow over the death of Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohamed Al Nahyan

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has expressed his condolences for the passing of Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohamed Al Nahyan, the Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region. The Presidential Court issued an obituary stating that Sheikh Tahnoun passed away, and the President mourns his uncle with faithful hearts to God’s decree. Official mourning has been declared with flags flown at half-mast for seven days following Sheikh Tahnoun’s passing. Sheikh Tahnoun was a prominent figure who was often seen accompanying the UAE President at various events.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, also offered his condolences to the President and the Al Nahyan family. Sheikh Mohammed remembered Sheikh Tahnoun’s achievements and his years of giving in a statement. The Court of the Ruler of Sharjah also conveyed its condolences to the UAE President. Sheikh Tahnoun had previously held positions such as chairman of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) and deputy chairman of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi. In 2018, the Dubai-Al Ain road was renamed after Sheikh Tahnoun in recognition of his contributions.
