The UAE flights to India were cancelled on May 26 and 27 due to Kolkata Airport Authority’s decision to suspend operations for 21 hours because of Cyclone Remal. Flights between Abu Dhabi and Kolkata, as well as Dubai and Kolkata, were affected, with several airlines confirming cancellations and delays. Passengers were advised to check their flight statuses for updates and re-accommodations. The India Meteorological Department issued a severe cyclone warning for northeastern India and coastal areas of Bangladesh, with the cyclone projected to hit West Bengal and Bangladesh around midnight on May 26. Despite the warning, the National Disaster Response Force assured that they are prepared to handle the cyclone’s impact.

The UAE flights to India faced disruptions on May 26 and 27 due to Kolkata Airport’s decision to suspend all operations for 21 hours in anticipation of Cyclone Remal hitting the coastal region. Several flights between Abu Dhabi and Kolkata, as well as Dubai and Kolkata, were cancelled or delayed. Passengers were advised to stay updated on their flight statuses and make necessary travel arrangements. The India Meteorological Department issued a severe cyclone warning for northeastern India and coastal areas of Bangladesh, ahead of the anticipated landfall of the cyclone in West Bengal and Bangladesh. Airlines, including Etihad Airways, Emirates, and flydubai, confirmed cancellations and delays for flights between Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Kolkata. Despite the disruptions, airlines were working to re-accommodate affected passengers and provide support in making alternative travel arrangements. The India Meteorological Department issued a severe cyclone warning for the region, emphasizing the potential impact of the cyclone on West Bengal and Bangladesh’s coastal areas.
