UAE residents can expect more rain in the upcoming days as the country transitions into the summer season. The showers are predicted to be focused mainly in the southern and western regions. With the heaviest rainfall on record occurring on April 16 and more rain and hail on May 2 to 3, significant weather events are not expected in the near future. Dr. Ahmed Habib, a weather specialist at the National Centre of Meteorology, mentioned that the chances of rain are high on Sunday, May 5, with a weak possibility in Sharjah and Dubai.

The UAE experiences two primary seasons, winter and summer, separated by transitional periods. The transitional phase from April to May is characterized by fluctuating and changing weather conditions as temperatures gradually rise. The summer period, lasting from June to September, brings high temperatures, reaching up to 50 degrees Celsius in southern areas. The current transitional period of spring may see low-pressure systems moving in from different directions, potentially bringing rain.

As the sun moves north of the equator, days seem to be longer this month, leading to an increase in air temperature across most parts of the country. The transition to summer in June will also bring changes in the pressure system. Dr. Habib mentioned that rainfall is minimal during summer, especially along the coastal regions, except for areas near the mountains. Stay updated with the latest news and weather forecasts to be prepared for any potential rain showers in the coming days.
