Ian Cris Tocle, known online as TRIC, is a multifaceted musician and entertainer from the Philippines, currently making waves in Dubai. His musical journey began at the age of three, inspired by karaoke nights and live performances with his grandparents in the Philippines. Moving to Dubai at the age of five, Ian continued to pursue his passion for music, mastering instruments such as the piano, guitar, and violin. Despite his rigorous pursuit of higher education, Ian still pours his heart and soul into creating musical melodies that have graced both local and international stages.

Ian’s journey with the violin began after discovering virtuosos like Lindsey Stirling, David Garrett, and Taylor Davis on YouTube. Their performances ignited a newfound passion in him for the violin, setting him on a professional path as a musician. Beyond his instrumental mastery, Ian’s foray into Bollywood music was sparked during his participation in ZEE TV’s Asia Singing Superstarz, where he performed Bollywood songs and was exposed to Indian musical styles and instruments. Adapting Bollywood music to the violin posed challenges due to the unique scales and ornamentation of Indian music, but Ian embraced these differences and infused his Filipino heritage into his performances.

Despite coming from a Filipino background, Ian effortlessly channels the romanticism and emotionality shared between Original Pilipino Music (OPM) and Bollywood in his performances. This connection between the two cultures allows him to engage with audiences on an emotional level, regardless of the genre he is playing. Ian’s ultimate goal is to bridge cultural gaps through his music, fostering understanding and appreciation for diverse musical traditions across different countries. By using music as a tool for unity, Ian hopes to inspire musicians and music enthusiasts to explore the rich and diverse musical landscape of our global community.

Ian’s passion for Bollywood and Filipino music is evident in his performances, where he merges the elaborate melodies and visual spectacle of Bollywood with the sentiment and emotionality of Filipino music. Through his art, Ian aims to connect with audiences on a deeper level by conveying emotions of love and enjoyment in his music. His admiration for artists like Arijit Singh, Shankar Mahadevan, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan inspires him to continue creating captivating compositions and vocals that resonate with listeners. Looking towards the future, Ian is excited about upcoming projects, including his debut album, which will blend epic synth elements with orchestral sounds, showcasing his diverse musical talents and visionary approach to music.

In conclusion, Ian Cris Tocle, also known as TRIC, is a rising star in the music scene, blending his Filipino heritage with his passion for Bollywood music to create captivating performances that transcend cultural boundaries. Through his music, Ian strives to build bridges between diverse communities, fostering understanding and appreciation for different musical traditions. As he continues to explore new musical horizons and collaborations, Ian invites fellow musicians and enthusiasts to join him on his journey towards creating a harmonious and inclusive global community through the power of music.
