Turkiye’s Euro 2024 campaign began with a thrilling 3-1 victory over Georgia in Dortmund, Germany. Real Madrid midfielder Arda Guler scored a brilliant goal in the 65th minute, followed by Kerem Akturkoglu’s goal in stoppage time. Georgia’s Georges Mikautadze leveled the score after Mert Muldur’s opener, but Turkiye ultimately secured the win.

Despite Georgia’s strong performance, Turkiye’s passionate fans provided unwavering support throughout the match. Turkiye dominated the game from the beginning, pressuring Georgia high up the pitch. Kaan Ayhan and Abdulkerim Bardakci both had chances to score early on, with Muldur eventually finding the back of the net in the 25th minute.

Georgia put up a brave fight, with Mikautadze scoring a crucial goal in the 32nd minute to level the score. Both teams had opportunities to score, with Georgia hitting the woodwork and Turkiye’s Yildiz having a goal disallowed for offside. However, Guler’s stunning strike in the second half proved to be the decisive moment in the match.

Georgia continued to push for an equalizer, with Kochorashvili hitting the crossbar late in the game. Despite their efforts, Akturkoglu sealed the win for Turkiye with a goal in stoppage time. The victory put Turkiye at the top of their group, setting a positive tone for the rest of their Euro 2024 campaign.
