Duqm, located in Oman, is a Special Economic Zone that is currently undergoing various tourism projects worth over OMR2 million. The Wilayat of Duqm is well-known for its tourism potential, including sandy beaches surrounded by rocks like the beaches of Duqm, Ras Markaz, and Ras Madraka. These beaches attract tourists with their stunning views and tranquil atmosphere. The moderate temperatures and strategic location make Duqm a popular destination for various types of tourism activities, such as fishing, surfing, rock garden tours, and visits to natural reserves.

In recent years, Duqm has experienced significant development which has had a positive impact on tourism in the region. The opening of Duqm Airport, the construction of an integrated road network, and the establishment of numerous hotels, resorts, restaurants, and cafes have all contributed to the growth of the tourism sector. The development of the transport and logistics sector has also played a key role in attracting more tourists to the area. Abdullah bin Salim Al Hakamani, Director of Technical Affairs at the Special Economic Zone, Duqm, has stated that there are over 2,500 rooms available in hotels, hotel apartments, and residential units in the region.

Preparations are currently underway in Duqm to accommodate tourists, particularly those heading to or coming from Salalah during the Khareef season. Roads in the Wilayat of Duqm have been opened to traffic, information boards have been installed to guide tourists to their accommodations and tourist sites, and restaurants, coffee shops, and other establishments have been instructed to comply with regulations and prepare for the season ahead. These initiatives aim to ensure that tourists have a smooth and enjoyable experience while visiting Duqm.

Overall, Duqm is becoming an increasingly popular tourist destination in Oman due to its stunning natural landscapes, well-developed infrastructure, and a wide range of tourism activities on offer. The region’s moderate temperatures, strategic location, and ongoing development projects make it an attractive choice for travelers looking to explore and relax in a unique and scenic setting. With its growing reputation as a tourist hotspot, Duqm is poised to become a must-visit destination for those seeking an authentic and unforgettable experience in Oman.
