Doha, Qatar – The Doha Equestrian Tour (DET) 2026 continued its second tour at the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab today, showcasing a dynamic Day 2 program across three arenas. More than 240 riders are competing for over €3.3 million in prize money throughout the series, which features CSI5*, CSI3*, CSI1*, and National Championship events. The competition is intensifying as riders vie for valuable points in the championship standings.
Running from January 8-10, the DET 2026 is attracting top equestrian talent from around the globe. Friday’s schedule featured a range of classes, from speed competitions to immediate jump-offs, building anticipation for the weekend’s highlight: the CSI5* “Six Bars” competition, a test of a horse and rider’s scope and bravery.
Day 2 at the Doha Equestrian Tour: A Showcase of Skill
Day 2 of the tour delivered a full schedule of events, demonstrating the depth of talent participating in the Doha Equestrian Tour. Classes across all levels provided thrilling competition, with riders demonstrating both speed and precision. The results remained open, with a diverse range of nations represented on the podium, and Qatari riders making a strong showing in front of their home crowd.
Key Highlights from Friday’s Competition
The CSI3* Immediate Jump-Off saw a remarkable performance from Hasan Senturk of Turkey, who secured a rare one-two finish. This result underscored the importance of fractions of a second in this fast-paced format. Additionally, Qatari riders achieved success at the CSI1* and youth levels, along with a runner-up finish in a CSI3* class, signaling growing strength within the local equestrian community.
Max Kühner of Austria claimed victory in the CSI5* 1.55m Jump-Off, riding Eic Quantum Robin V, while Megane Moissonnier of France triumphed in the CSI5* “Six Bars” competition with Chacarija PS. Millie Allen (GBR) and Quick Diamant HR won the CSI5* 1.45m (Faults & Time), and Philipp Weishaupt (GER) riding Karaldo took the CSI3* 1.45m (Faults & Time) title. Ismail Osama El Borai (EGY) secured the win in the CSI3* 1.30m (Special Two-Phase) with Incredible Z.
National and Youth Competition
The day also featured strong performances in national and youth categories. Ali Omar A H Al Ansari of Qatar won the CSI1* 1.15m (Faults & Time) riding Nikita Eindeken Z, and Abdulla Khalid Al Julandani (QAT) took the CSIY-B 1.25m (Special Two-Phase) with Nuance van het Groeshof. Khalifa Abdulla Al Sulaiti won the National Competition – Optimum Time – 0.80 m riding Guedzanotte.
Series Standings and Future Outlook
After Tour 1, Qatar currently leads the CSI1* rankings, demonstrating consistent performance from its riders. Hussain Said A M Haidan tops the standings with 20 points. The CSI4*/5* rankings are currently led by Harry Charles (GBR) with 40 points, indicating a highly competitive field at the highest levels of the sport. Equestrian competition at this level requires years of dedication and training.
