A British tourist in Dubai was rescued by the Dubai Police’s Air Wing and the Brave Squad after becoming stranded on the Hatta mountains due to severe exhaustion and high blood pressure while hiking. The police received an emergency alert prompting the operation, as the tourist needed urgent evacuation from the challenging terrain. A descent on foot would have taken four hours, so a helicopter equipped with a medical team was dispatched to rescue the tourist.

Pilot Colonel Ali Al Muhairi, Director of the Dubai Police Air Wing Centre, mentioned that the helicopter managed to reach the tourist despite the rugged mountain terrain, thanks to precise coordinates provided by the Brave Squad using advanced aerial navigation systems. Lieutenant Muhammad Obaid Al Kaabi, head of the Brave Squad, explained that drones with thermal imaging were used to locate the tourist who was unable to walk due to severe exhaustion and high blood pressure. After providing first aid, the tourist was airlifted to Hatta Hospital by the Brave Squad.

In case of emergencies in mountainous or valley areas, Lieutenant Muhammad Obaid Al Kaabi reminded the public to contact the emergency number 999 or the SOS service on the Dubai Police app. This incident highlights the importance of being prepared for hiking adventures, and knowing the appropriate steps to take in case of emergencies in remote areas. The successful rescue operation conducted by Dubai Police’s Air Wing and the Brave Squad demonstrates their commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of tourists and residents in Dubai.

In conclusion, the successful rescue of the British tourist on the Hatta mountains by Dubai Police’s Air Wing and the Brave Squad serves as a reminder of the importance of emergency preparedness and the availability of efficient emergency services. By promoting awareness of safety measures and emergency contact information, individuals can ensure their well-being during outdoor activities in remote areas. Dubai Police’s swift response and coordinated efforts in this rescue operation demonstrate their dedication to serving the community and ensuring a safe environment for all.
