The Higher Education Council (HEC) in Bahrain has recently uncovered a third case of a fraudulent entity posing as a university, adding to two previous cases identified earlier this month. These sham institutions have been found offering unrecognised degrees to both citizens and residents, deceiving individuals with promises of accredited university qualifications. Through diligent oversight, the HEC has exposed the unlawful activities of these entities after conducting thorough investigations.

The latest fraudulent establishment was found to be targeting students through online platforms and social media, claiming to provide legitimate university qualifications. In response to these deceptive practices, the HEC has taken action by reporting all three cases to the Public Prosecution, providing relevant evidence and additional details for further investigation. The HEC emphasizes the importance of verifying the legitimacy of educational institutions and their academic programmes through its official website to avoid falling victim to scams.

It is strongly advised to consult the HEC’s General Secretariat and avoid advertisements promoting certificates from unaccredited entities. Engaging with such fraudulent entities can have serious consequences, as the qualifications they issue are not officially recognized and hold no value. The HEC remains dedicated to upholding the standards of higher education in Bahrain, ensuring that students have access to authentic and recognized educational opportunities.

The HEC’s efforts to combat fraudulent universities and protect individuals from falling prey to scams highlight the importance of due diligence when pursuing higher education. By utilizing the resources provided by the HEC, students can verify the accreditation and legitimacy of educational institutions, safeguarding themselves from potential risks. It is crucial for individuals to be wary of false claims and misleading advertisements that promise accredited degrees without proper accreditation.

By raising awareness about the prevalence of fraudulent institutions in Bahrain, the HEC aims to empower individuals to make informed decisions when choosing their educational path. Through its continuous oversight and proactive measures, the HEC plays a crucial role in safeguarding the integrity of higher education in the country. By working closely with the Public Prosecution and providing evidence of fraudulent activities, the HEC is taking a proactive stance against individuals and entities that seek to deceive students.

In conclusion, the HEC’s actions against fraudulent universities in Bahrain underscore the importance of conducting thorough research and due diligence before pursuing higher education opportunities. By relying on the HEC’s official website and General Secretariat for information on accredited institutions, individuals can protect themselves from falling victim to scams. The HEC’s commitment to upholding the standards of higher education ensures that students are provided with authentic and recognized educational prospects, safeguarding their academic and professional future.
