Al Shaqab, a renowned equestrian center in Doha, Qatar, has announced the return of the Al Shaqab League, an elite competition aimed at nurturing young talent and promoting excellence in horsemanship. Scheduled to take place at the prestigious Longines Indoor Arena from 13-14 December 2024, the league offers riders under 25 a supportive and competitive platform to showcase their skills. This year’s edition promises an enriched experience with international competitions, engaging activities for families, and a welcoming environment for all attendees.

The Al Shaqab League provides male and female riders with the opportunity to advance their equestrian careers within an inclusive and equitable framework. The league features categories such as Future Champions, Junior Champions, Youth Champions, Ladies Class, Amateur Class, and Al Shaqab Champions to ensure that riders at every level have the chance to excel. The 2024-2025 season also introduces a Team Competition, where each team will proudly bear the name of a legendary Al Shaqab Champion Horse, such as Marwan, Al Adeed, Gazal, and more. Sponsors for this season include DAAM, Exxonmobil, Al Kass, and kobeco concept.

The Al Shaqab International League Showjumping event serves as qualifiers for the International Equestrian Federation’s Group VII Championship Final, giving young athletes the opportunity to represent Al Shaqab on the world stage. With three international competitions included in this season, the league’s reach and impact are expanded, solidifying Al Shaqab’s reputation as a hub for regional and global equestrian talent. The training and competition categories in the league include Introductory Classes (Intro Class 1, Intro Class 2, Intro Class 3) and Main Categories (Future Champions, Junior Champions, Young Champions, and a Ladies’ Category for amateur female riders).

Overall, the Al Shaqab League offers a unique and exciting opportunity for young riders to showcase their skills and advance their equestrian careers in an inclusive and competitive environment. With a focus on promoting excellence in horsemanship and nurturing talent, the league provides a platform for riders at all levels to excel and succeed. The addition of a Team Competition and the inclusion of legendary Al Shaqab Champion Horses in the season’s lineup further enhance the experience for participants and spectators alike. With sponsors like DAAM, Exxonmobil, Al Kass, and kobeco concept supporting the season, the league continues to grow and expand its reach in the equestrian community.
