Italian coach Roberto Mancini has made significant changes to the Saudi national team’s squad ahead of the third and fourth rounds of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. The new list includes several young talents, reflecting Mancini’s vision to inject fresh talent capable of making a significant impact. The upcoming crucial matches against Japan and Bahrain will be held at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.

Notably absent from the lineup are players from Al Hilal, including goalkeeper Mohammed Al Owais and striker Fahd Al-Muwallad. New additions to the squad include Hamed Al-Ghamdi and Ali Al-Asmari. The 28-man squad features young talents in different positions, such as goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and attackers. Each player brings a unique skill set to the team, aiming to enhance flexibility and adaptability to various challenges in international competitions.

Mancini’s strategy revolves around building a balanced team that combines experience with youth, creating the necessary equilibrium and cohesion for success on the global stage. With the team currently ranking second in Group C, the upcoming matches against Japan and Bahrain are crucial for determining the team’s trajectory in the qualifiers. The ambitions are high, and the challenges are significant, but with the selected squad and strategy in place, the Saudi team can aim for positive results.

Under Mancini’s leadership, the Saudi team will begin its training camp for the upcoming matches on October 6, following the conclusion of the sixth round of the Roshan Saudi League. So far, the national team has earned four points from a draw with Indonesia and a victory against China in the Asian qualifiers. The team’s performance in the upcoming matches will be vital in shaping its standing internationally and moving closer to qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

The new squad selections highlight Mancini’s intent to enhance the Saudi national team’s performance by introducing fresh talent and building a cohesive unit. The inclusion of young talents in key positions reflects a strategic approach aimed at achieving success in international competitions. With a balance between experience and youth, the team is poised to face challenges head-on and strive for positive results in the upcoming matches against Japan and Bahrain.

As the Saudi team prepares for the crucial matches ahead, Mancini’s focus on flexibility and adaptability within the squad sets the stage for a competitive and determined performance. By emphasizing a balanced team composition and cohesion, Mancini aims to guide the Saudi team towards success on the global stage and closer to qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. With the support of the selected squad, the team is well-positioned to navigate through the challenges and achieve its goals in the Asian qualifiers.
