The Qatar chapter of the Institution of Engineers (India) organizes Green Energy Conference

The Federation of Global Engineers (FGE) and the Institute of Engineers India (IEI), Qatar chapter, recently organized the Green Energy Conference 2024 in Doha, Qatar. Held at MES Indian School, this conference aimed to highlight innovative solutions for a sustainable future. The event saw the participation of distinguished diplomats and leading figures from the Qatari engineering and business sphere, as well as academic experts. The collaboration between FGE, IEI, ISTE, and SESI emphasized the importance of international cooperation in achieving sustainable goals.

The Green Energy Conference 2024 featured prominent diplomats such as Sandeep Kumar, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy, and ambassadors from countries like Bangladesh, Ghana, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. In addition, key figures from the Qatari engineering and business community, including representatives from Kahramaa-Tarsheed and Engineers Australia Qatar, shared their insights on sustainable practices. Academic experts from Qatar University and Liverpool University also contributed to the discussions, emphasizing the need for sustainable development.

Delegates from ISTE and SESI, New Delhi, played a crucial role in the conference, with figures like Dr. Pratapsinh Desai, President of ISTE, and V. Malla Reddy, Chairman of Malla Reddy Engineering College, adding value to the discussions. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ISTE and FGE marked a significant milestone in global collaboration for green energy innovation. The agreement aims to promote joint research, knowledge sharing, and the development of sustainable energy projects across Asia, the MENA region, and beyond.

One of the highlights of the Green Energy Conference 2024 was the active participation of several Indian schools in Qatar. This underscored the importance of involving the younger generation in green initiatives and sustainable practices. The interactive Science Exhibition allowed students to showcase their innovative models and projects centered around sustainability, while the Science Quiz engaged them in discussions on topics related to renewable energy and environmental conservation. Education was highlighted as a key driver for the future of green energy.

A special tribute was paid to the late AC Sarkar, a respected member of the Qatar Engineers’ community, during the conference. Subrata Mukherjee, Executive Director at Qatar Design Consortium, delivered a heartfelt address commemorating Sarkar’s commitment to fostering engineering excellence and sustainability. The event brought together a diverse group of participants to discuss and promote sustainable practices and underscored the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing in the field of green energy.

Overall, the Green Energy Conference 2024 in Doha, Qatar, served as a platform for highlighting innovative solutions for a sustainable future. The collaboration between FGE, IEI, ISTE, and SESI, along with the active participation of diplomats, industry leaders, academic experts, and students, emphasized the need for international cooperation in achieving sustainable goals. The signing of the MoU between ISTE and FGE represented a significant step towards enhancing global collaboration in green energy innovation.
