The Minister of Interior, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, declared the government’s unwavering commitment to fighting against all forms of narcotics and taking strict action against those involved in drug trafficking crimes. He made this statement during a meeting with the Director General of the Narcotics Control, Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Qarni, and several commanders of the directorate in the Riyadh region. The minister emphasized that the security efforts, under the directives and support of the wise leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, will persist in all regions of the Kingdom to combat drug smuggling attempts and track down and deal with those involved in them firmly and decisively.

During the meeting, Prince Abdulaziz was briefed on the most significant seizures and proactive security operations conducted by members of the Narcotics Control Department in the Riyadh region over the past period. In line with efforts to enhance security measures, the minister inaugurated the Rased Center for Cybersecurity Operations at the General Directorate of Narcotics Control. This center aims to safeguard the network, systems, devices, programs, and applications of the General Directorate of Narcotics Control from potential digital threats. Staffed with qualified national cadres specialized in cybersecurity, the center operates around the clock to ensure the protection of critical infrastructure against cyber threats.

The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials, including Deputy Minister of Interior Dr. Nasser Al-Daoud, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Batal, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Security Affairs Mohammed Al-Muhanna, Director of Public Security Lt. Gen. Mohammed Al-Bassami, and Director General of the Minister’s Office for Studies and Research Maj. Gen. Khalid Al-Arawan. The gathering underscores the government’s collaborative approach in addressing the challenges posed by drug trafficking and the importance of employing advanced technology and qualified personnel to combat emerging threats effectively.

The government’s strong stance against narcotics is reflected in the Minister of Interior’s unequivocal commitment to combatting drug trafficking and enhancing security measures. By reiterating the government’s resolve to tackle all forms of drugs and those involved in their distribution, Prince Abdulaziz underscores the seriousness of the issue and the need for coordinated efforts to address this societal menace. The meeting with key officials from the Narcotics Control Department highlights the importance of ongoing security operations and the significance of staying ahead of evolving threats through proactive measures.

The inauguration of the Rased Center for Cybersecurity Operations underscores the government’s recognition of the critical role that technology plays in safeguarding vital infrastructure against digital threats. With the center staffed by qualified national cadres specializing in cybersecurity, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control is well-positioned to protect its network and systems from potential cyber attacks. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to leveraging technology to enhance security measures and ensure the effective implementation of anti-drug trafficking efforts.

In conclusion, the government’s multi-faceted approach to combating drug trafficking and enhancing security measures demonstrates its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the well-being of its citizens and communities. Through collaborative efforts, advanced technology, and the dedication of qualified personnel, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control is poised to address emerging threats effectively and protect critical infrastructure from potential digital threats. The government’s resolute stance against narcotics, as articulated by Prince Abdulaziz, serves as a clear message that drug trafficking will not be tolerated, and those involved will face severe consequences.
