The 36th issue of the Duqm Economist Magazine, released by the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (Opaz), showcases projects and investments within the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (Sezad) and free zones in Salalah, Sohar, and Al Mazyunah. The magazine highlights the efforts of the Authority in attracting investments to support economic diversification policies as part of Oman Vision 2040. The Authority is focused on creating a safe working environment by prioritizing health and safety procedures for workers in the economic zones, free zones, and industrial cities. By implementing preventive measures, workplace accidents and injuries are reduced, improving working conditions and increasing productivity, which in turn enhances competitiveness and creates a favorable investment environment.

One of the key articles in the magazine discusses the importance of corporate commitment to health and safety procedures. Engineer Ahmed Harib Al Balushi, Director of the Authority’s Compliance and Environmental Affairs Department, emphasizes that ensuring the health and safety of workers is crucial. Preventive measures not only eliminate or reduce workplace accidents but also improve working conditions and increase worker productivity, contributing directly to enhancing the work environment and fostering competitiveness and transparency. This emphasis on health and safety ultimately creates an attractive investment environment in the economic and free zones of Oman.

The magazine also covers the services provided by one-stop shops for investors, offering more than 80 services to facilitate business operations. These one-stop shops are essential in enhancing the business environment and impacting the economic landscape positively by creating an encouraging environment for innovation, research, and development. By improving efficiency and productivity in companies located in these areas, the one-stop shops contribute to the overall economic growth and success of these zones. The positive indicators and ongoing opportunities in Sezad underscore the significant economic momentum and rapid growth experienced in the region, making it an attractive destination for investors.

With 116 pages in both Arabic and English, the Duqm Economist Magazine delves into various topics such as the Central Fruit and Vegetable Market (Silal) at Khazaen Economic City. This market boosts the wholesale trade sector in Oman, serving as a national and international platform for marketing, exporting, importing, and re-exporting vegetables and fruits. Additionally, it acts as a marketing outlet for local agricultural products from producing agricultural companies and local farmers, supporting the growth of the agricultural sector in the country.

The issue also covers growth indicators, performance metrics, and economic articles, highlighting the incentives, facilities, and investment opportunities in the economic, free, and industrial zones of Oman. Through infographics and various designs, the magazine showcases the diverse opportunities available in the Sultanate, encouraging investments and economic development. The comprehensive coverage in the Duqm Economist Magazine provides valuable insights into the economic landscape of Oman and the growth potential in the various economic zones and industrial cities, making it a must-read for investors and stakeholders interested in the region’s economic development.
